Starting With the Edge Solar
I kicked off the 2025–2026 whitetail deer season in Middle Tennessee by running a Moultrie Edge Solar on my mountain property.
I was hesitant at first about how well a cellular camera would perform in that terrain. To my surprise, the Edge Solar had excellent cellular service and consistently delivered photos straight to my phone without issue.
Expanding the Camera Lineup
After seeing how well the Edge Solar performed, I immediately added a Moultrie Edge 2 to the lineup.
Running both cameras showed me how much value Moultrie cellular cameras can bring to property management and deer hunting. That experience led me to purchase three Moultrie Edge 3 cellular cameras.
Edge 3 Photo and Video Quality
The photo and video quality on the Edge 3 is outstanding. The clarity is on another level compared with the earlier models.
You can see individual hairs on a deer, making it much easier to age, identify, and pattern bucks. The Edge 3 has quickly become my go-to camera, and I expect to add more to my setup in the future.
What Stood Out
- Reliable cellular service on mountain property
- Consistent photo delivery to my phone
- Excellent Edge 3 photo and video clarity
- Detailed images that help with aging and identifying deer
- Useful for property management and deer patterning
- Strong customer support when questions came up
Customer Support and Setup
Moultrie receives criticism online from people who say the cameras are unreliable, but my experience has been the exact opposite.
What I have learned is that patience and taking the time to read and understand the cameras make a major difference.
Whenever I thought I had an issue, Moultrie customer support was friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to help. Their customer service deserves recognition.
More Moultrie Testing Ahead
Next, I plan to deploy a 200-pound Moultrie feeder on the property. After running it alongside the Edge 3, I will publish another detailed field review.
I will also be adding a 250-pound gravity feeder for protein, so more Moultrie testing is coming.
Final Verdict
Reliable Cameras With Excellent Image Quality
My experience with Moultrie has been nothing short of fantastic. I would not hesitate to recommend their cameras to hunters who are getting started with cellular trail cameras or looking to upgrade their current setup.
